Wet Rate
Definition
An aircraft rental rate that includes fuel. The renter pays a single hourly rate and the school absorbs fuel costs.
Why It Matters
Wet rates simplify billing but expose the school to fuel price fluctuations. Most training aircraft are rented at wet rates. The rate is typically per Hobbs hour.
