Transponder Check
Definition
A biennial (every 24 calendar months) inspection required by FAR 91.413 for aircraft operating in controlled airspace. Ensures the transponder and altitude encoder report accurately.
Why It Matters
One of the AVIATES items. Calendar-based, so it's tracked by date rather than flight hours. The scheduling system should flag aircraft approaching their transponder check due date.
